Presidential hopeful Raphael Tuju on Friday declared that he was ready to support Prime Minister Raila Odinga in his presidential bid if he could prove that he was the preferred candidate.
Mr Tuju at the same time criticised the PM for allegedly claiming that he (former Rarieda MP) stage-managed the attack on his campaign entourage during his political rally in Kisumu last weekend to win sympathy votes. (READ: Raila speaks to Tuju stoning)

“Mr Odinga is my brother. If by the time we are going for the elections he will be the preferred candidate, I will support him but he must also understand that the country’s presidential seat is not a preserve of a few leaders,” he said.
He said all Kenyans were at liberty to contest the top seat.
Mr Tuju said it was wrong for ODM to claim that he had organised youths who attacked his entourage even before investigations were done.
“I’m a crusader for peace and how can I arrange a group of youths to throw stones against me?” he posed.
He was speaking on Friday at Bomet bus terminus, where he made a stopover during his campaign trail in the South Rift.
