Share/Save/Bookmark Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has called on the Kamba community to unite and support his presidential bid in 2012. The VP said when the community is united, it would be easy for other communities to support him to win the  presidency next year.

The VP took a swipe at Water minister Charity Ngilu and Mutito MP Kiema Kilonzo whom he said were working overtime to derail his presidential ambitions. “These two are just like doubting Thomases and they belong to the past. They should know that we are progressive leaders and it is too late for anybody to ruin my chances for the presidency,” Kalonzo said.

The remarks came at a time when leaflets allegedly authored by the two leaders criticizing Kalonzo’s leadership style were spread in the town ahead of the VP’s visit at the weekend.

The VP was addressing a rally at Kitui Municipal Stadium at the weekend where he received delegations from Meru, Kisii, Luo Nyanza, Coast, Central and Western provinces and a host of councillors from Kisii county.

Kalonzo assured Kenyans that the implementation of the new constitution was on course and that there was no need for alarm. He said that even those who opposed the new constitution should support its implementation. He added that Dr Willy Mutunga was the most suited person to take over as the next Chief Justice calling him a fair minded jurist who would clean the country’s judicial system.
