An MP from Coast who is considering running for the senate in the next elections is in the process of unveiling a public relations company which will lead his campaigns. The flamboyant legislator has already hired a Nairobi based TV journalist who is also a parliamentary reporter as a lead consultant for the PR firm. The MP, based on the technical advice of the journalist, is said to have already ordered ten hi tech video and still cameras worth millions of shillings for the firm which will be based in Mombasa but will have a branch office in Nairobi.

Internal and external communications at the ministry of Housing have temporarily been hampered following the relocation of the public relations office. The PR’s office which was situated in the same office as that of the minister’s at Ardhi House, Upper hill, has since been moved to Protection house along Parliament Road. Housing minister Soita Shitanda, his assistant minister Margaret Wanjiru and PS Tirop Kosgey are reportedly taking long to communicate to the public since the PRO has to be summoned from the town office whenever his services are required. It is not yet clear why the PR office was relocated to the city.

Some top ODM MPs including ministers are getting increasingly itchy as the party’s grassroots elections nears. One of them is Regional Development Minister Fred Gumo whose grip on Westlands constituency is said to be waning. Our mole in the constituency tells us that on Monday afternoon the minister summoned a prominent businessman who is also a councillor and tried to persuade him to back him during the elections. The councillor, who is also interested in a party post is reported to have refused and told Gumo that they will meet at the ballot box.

The reason for Igembe North MP's recent twists and turns can finally be explained. The man was reportedly been concerned that the local and youthful ODM branch chairman George Thuranira would steal his thunder if he failed to attend the functions held by the PM Raila Odinga during his recent tours of the region. Its said the reason for Linturi's extravagant statements at the rallies addressed by Raila including the claim that he is the "father of UDM!' is to deflect attention from Thuranira.
