Share/Save/Bookmark Who might have messed up with President Kibaki’s contribution for the burial of assistant minister Orwa Ojode’s father a few days ago in Homabay County? We are told the Head of State left the ceremony without giving his contribution after the Sh200,000 he had planned to offer went missing. This forced a State House operative to ask for another bunch which was delivered much later. Corridors has been tipped that investigators swung into action immediately to unravel the mystery of the money which was under the care of a senior State House official. The cash was however later recovered in Nairobi. Detectives investigating the case were told to keep off the matter after being informed the money had been recovered.

An MP from Central Kenya was last week overheard saying how some of his fellow MPs have been hovering around him looking for soft loans. The legislator was heard explaining how five MPs last week, after a meeting at a city hotel, ambushed him asking for cash arguing that they had pressing needs in their constituencies. According to the legislator, some of the MPs never pays back after getting a loan.

All is not well at the Central Kenya Parliamentary Group which is chaired by Mathira MP Ephraim Maina. Some legislators from the region have been demanding that the group conduct elections and bring fresh blood that will generate plans to be used in the Kibaki succession war. Some legislators feel that the group has not been active enough and that it has failed to shape the region’s politics ahead of the 2012 General Election.

A senior administration officer in Marakwet West has been taking food supplies meant for his juniors currently in the area for a special operation. Sometimes the officers are forced to go to the operation area without adequate supplies. Those who dare to raise a finger are immediately transferred or punished on trumped up charges.
