KACC's bait on KPLC staffer flops

Share/Save/Bookmark A KPLC employee in Bungoma shocked KACC officers who had set him up with with treated Sh20,000 when they pounced on him two minutes after he received the money but could not find the cash.
The senior staff had been set up after numerous complaints from the public who alleged that he demanded Sh20,000 as a kick back before connecting power to their homes. The KACC officials had given the cash to a customer who wanted power connection as they laid trap to the unsuspecting KPLC worker.
Soon after the the customer gave Gerald Wakule the cash outside the offices, the anti-corruption officers pounced on him. But on frisking him, they didn't find the money.This prompted them to lock all the premises, bringing business to a stand still as they frisked all the workers.“Wapi pesa yetu? (Where is our money?)", a KACC official was heard shouting inside the KPLC offices as they ransacked the workers.
Two workers were later arrested and taken to Bungoama police station.The incident drew a large crowd of curios onlookers. There have been numerous complaints of corruption at the Bungoma KPLC offices in the recent past and members of the public appealed to KACC to come to their rescue.
