Kisumu urged to vote in NYC elections

Share/Save/Bookmark TWO MPs have urged the youth to register in order to participate in the forthcoming National Youth Council elections. Nominated MPs Rachel Shebesh, Milly Odhiambo and ODM activist Hillary Alila regretted that many youths were not aware of the elections process.
Speaking in Kisumu at the weekend, they asked the Ministry of Youth and Sports to educate the youth on the forthcoming elections.The deadline for registration of voters is on April 8.“The deadline for registration is nearing and most youths are not aware about this exercise. I’m urging youths to participate in this process,” said Shebesh.
Odhiambo urged the minister for youth and sports Paul Otwoma to popularize the elections which will kick off with sub location level on April 18 to May 20.
Alila accused the ministry of carrying out the exercise in secrecy. “We are reading sinister motives here because the exercise is not being given enough publicity,” added Alila, a Nairobi businessman.
The national delegates forum will be held on May 27 and 27 while the National Delegates Congress will be on May 30 and 31. Ends They asked politicians to keep off the elections and asked the youth to elect credible leaders.
