Yesterday, Kioni announced the party will not issue direct nominations.“We are discouraging the habit of issuing direct nominations. We want the candidates to compete for the ticket,” Kioni said.
Mbugua said he is ready to compete with his colleagues for the ticket.“I am ready for anything and am not bothered by the issue of direct nominations. I know I will win with ease,” Mbugua said.
At the same time, talks among the Somali community to discuss the nomination of a joint candidate collapsed after the Ogaden and Issaq clans failed to reconcile ODM candidate Ibrahim Ahmed Jonnie and Yusuf Hassan of ODM-K.
The committee chaired by city business mogul Mohamud Khalif hit a snag after both Jonnie and Yusuf insisted they are in the race. ODM-K has already issued a nomination certificate to Yusuf who has hit the ground running in his second bid to become the Kamukunji MP.
On Friday, Narc-Kenya announced that its nominations will be conducted on March 31 after secretary general Brian Weke and councillor Muthoni Kihara were cleared to vie.
BRIAN WEKE IS A SERIOUS ASPIRANT AND HAS REALLY HELPED US IN THE GROUND DESPITE THE FACT THAT HE IS NOT YET OUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT. HE DESERVES THIS SINCE HE IS TRUSTWORTHY AND PROMISING.
