Kenyans have been urged to ignore politicians distorting facts about the draft law.
Former Cabinet minister Martha Karua and assistant minister Peter Kenneth, speaking separately, said the No vote campaigners were deliberately misleading Kenyans.
Ms Karua, the MP for Gichugu, said interpretation of the proposed law should be left to experts and not the clergy or politicians.
Addressing a civic education meeting in Thika, the legislator said the proposed constitution will offer Kenyans better governance and usher in economic gains through devolved governments.
Legal experts
At the same time, she asked clergymen to abide by teachings of the Bible and leave the interpretation of the proposed law to legal experts.
And Mr Kenneth, who was speaking in Ruiru, said the recent opinion poll on the constitution was a true reflection of what Kenyans stand for.
“We are asking people to read the document so that they can make informed decisions,” said the Gatanga MP during a thanksgiving ceremony for the Nairobi Institute of Business Studies’ Ruiru campus.
