Benefits Of New Law
He was speaking at the Akamba Handicraft Industry in Chaani and later at the close of the Kenya Institute of Management convention in Mombasa.
Kalonzo said the new law is necessary to address social, economic and political woes that have held the country back for decades.
Kalonzo said the country would embrace a 24-hour economy to step up production.
"The 24-hour hour operation has already been introduced at the port of Mombasa and this is where the country is moving to," he said.
He called for early lessons to the youth on service delivery to promote a working culture.
The VP said the Proposed Constitution represented interests of all Kenyans and not individuals as was being claimed.
"The President, Prime Minister and myself are committed to see that Kenyans get a new law. It is not for our own benefit but for the benefit of all Kenyans," he said.
Nominated MP Shakila Abdalla and former Transport Minister Chirau Ali Mwakwere accompanied him.
At the KIM convention, the VP said sound corporate and political governance are necessary to spur wealth creation.
The KIM chief executive officer David Muturi noted that although Africa is endowed with resources it is experiencing high poverty levels.
He said there was need to unlock the continent’s potential to reduce poverty levels.
