BOMB FEAR

Police have allayed fears of a bomb allegedly planted beneath a bridge along Nairobi-Mombasa road.

According to Nairobi deputy Police boss Moses Ombati, the device was a communication gadget belonging to a local security company.

Bomb investigators had rushed to the scene after they received information of a suspected explosive device found near General Motors offices.

The incident comes three days after hand grenades were hurled at a crowd at Uhuru Park.
