FORD-K

Ford Kenya has finally launched its membership recruitment exercise after months of uncertainty that has seen party members divided on the same.

Being one of the parties that has vowed to go it alone in 2012, FORD-Kenya says the launch marks the start of a democratic process for its members countrywide.

Chairman Musikari Kombo says the grassroot elections will be followed by the national delegates' conference on 8th May when they elect the Party's top leaders and warned against plans to mar the recruitment exercise.

Contestants for the newly created post of party leader were required to pay 1 million shillings by 12th February while those intending to run for party chairmanship were to pay half a million shillings.

The contest for FORD Kenya's leadership got stiff with remain hard with Foreign affairs Minister Moses Wetangula and presidential candidate Saboti MP Eugene Wamalwa expressing interest.

The on and off recruitment exercise has caused anxiety among party supporters some accusing it's leaders of horse-trading between the party's big wigs and members of the newly created Progressive Democratic Movement (PDM).
