Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Sunday said that the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) will triumph during the coming polls without the input of those who defected recently.
He said the contribution of some politicians who decamped to other parties were inconsequential to the Cord victory because the alliance is the team to beat during the March polls next year.
PM Odinga told a rally in Loitotok border town that Cord which brought together ODM, Wiper and Ford Kenya parties was unstoppable and was optimistic that the team will form the next government.
His declaration comes after Co-operative Minister Joe Nyaga ditched ODM and joined the Jubilee alliance.
Mr Odinga who was on a campaign trail in the region said the Cord administration intended to ratify the proposed laws on communal land ownership to protect the group ranches.
“We are determined to enact the proposed laws to address the problems afflicting the group ranches and ensure that they remained intact for communal use,” he said.
PM Odinga, who earlier in the day attended a church service at the Loitotok AIC said the new laws will deal with the historical injustices the communities in the region suffered over the years.
“The communal laws will protect the group ranches from further interference and make such properties beyond the control of a few individuals because it will be under community ownership” he said.
His assurance comes following public outcry over the manner the group ranches were being sub-divided and leased to individuals without the consent of the stakeholders.
He announced plans to embark on the next phase of the infrastructure development after the next election saying sound road network was critical in accelerating economic growth.
PM Odinga informed residents that the construction of the Loitotok –Taveta road was among the high priority projects to promote trade between the Kenya Tanzania borders.
He asked residents to register as voters before the expiry of the exercise to ensure that they took part in the coming historical polls which he said was only comparable to the independence elections that gave birth to the nation.

Mr Odinga said that the 2013 polls were signified a fresh start for the country because the Constitution was going to transform the governance structures under the devolved system.
