Immigration minister predicts landslide win for Raila ahead of next year’s General Election.
Immigration minister, Otieno Kajwang’ has predicted a landslide win for Coalition for Restoration of Democracy in next year’s General Election in round one. Kajwang’, who launched his Homa Bay County Senator bid at Oyugis town yesterday, noted that parties allied to Cord enjoyed countrywide support.
He said he was sure, Cord’s presidential flag bearer Prime Minister Raila odinga will win the presidential seat and told Jubilee opponents to prepare for a bruising political battle. Kajwang’, accompanied by the County’s Women Representative aspirant, Gladys Wanga said, Cord will conduct door -to-door campaigns nationally to ensure it captured many elective posts to catapult Raila to State House.
Kajwang’ said Cord was a believer of the Constitution, saying if it formed the Government, it would implement the law to the letter to benefit Kenyans. He noted the work of the senate would be to protect the Office of the President and to ensure he or she adheres to the Constitution, which Kenyans supported during the referendum.
He blamed Jubilee coalition for dumping United Democratic Forum (UDF) presidential aspirant, Musalia Mudavadi and failing to honour their agreements, adding that they had ruined his presidential ambitions. He said Cord’s formation with PM, Raila, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula and other parties reflected a national outlook to help solve Kenya’s problems. Wanga urged voters to elect her as Women representative, saying she would ensure youth and women are empowered economically to improve living standards.
