One suspected attacker was on Sunday captured and killed by angry Kipao residents in Tana Delta.
This brings to 11 the number of suspected Pokomo raiders killed since the Friday attacks on the Orma community that left 31 residents dead.
Unconfirmed reports also said that an Administration Police officer was missing under mysterious circumstances since Friday following the attacks.
Administration Police Commandant who is the Chief of Security Operations, Mr Peter Musanga Pamba could not confirm or deny the reports but only said that police were “carrying out security manoeuvres”.
Mr Pamba who was accompanied with top AP officers from Mombasa said that police were carrying out secret manoeuvres whose purpose he did not reveal.
He condemned the burning of suspects bodies saying that it was illegal and the activity was interfering with the gathering of evidence.
“Instead of arresting and handing over the suspects to the police, why kill him?", he said.
On Friday, villagers barred GSU, AP officers and Red Cross personnel from collecting the bodies of the nine suspected Pokomo attackers.
After burying their dead in the evening, the villagers set the suspects dead bodies on fire.
Mr Pamba’s visit follows that of Coast PC, Mr Samuel Kilele, who, together with his security team, were chased by villagers.
