Thursday, the 1st of November 2012 -Mrs Veronica Wanja Kariuki, the person who was billed as most likely to win the TNA nomination for Gilgil Parliamentary seat, has died in tragic car accident that occurred along the Gilgil-Kongasis road.
The accident occurred when the car she was travelling in, an Isuzu Trooper veered off the road and rolled several times. The other 4 passengers on board, who included her husband, were lucky to escape with injuries.
A meeting of the TNA party aspirants was called after Veronica’s death was confirmed. Area leader Boniface Thuo said the deceased was en route to a campaign meeting when the accident occurred;
“The information we have is that the car’s rear wheels had a problem and this resulted in the accident where the councilor lost her life,” he said.
Former AP commandant Kinuthia Mbugua was full of praise for the deceased;
“We pray that the family may have strength at these hard times and we shall continue to support them,” said Kinuthia who is seeking the post of Governor for Nakuru County.”
