Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Friday claimed that some top leaders who incited Kenyans to cause chaos after the 2007 elections have been using the International Criminal Court trials to create a wedge between him and URP presidential aspirant William Ruto.
Mr Odinga, who was responding to calls by Nandi residents to step up talks with the Eldoret North MP, accused some top leaders who he did not name of dragging his name into the ICC cases facing four Kenyans.
“I have no hand in problems facing (URP leader) William Ruto, (DPM) Uhuru Kenyatta, (former Head of Public Service) Francis  Muthaura and (radio presenter) Joshua Sang. It is the same leaders who incited Kenyans to violence  after the disputed presidential election in 2008 who have ganged up to soil my name,” said the PM.
He was addressing mourners during the burial of Mr John Burgei Tuwei, who until his death was the chairman of the powerful Talai Community in Kapsisiywa village. He said he had initiated talks with Mr Ruto but added it was up to the URP leader to accept or reject his move.
