RAILA calls top ex-cop from retirement to stop KISUMU INSECURITY

Friday, the 2nd of November 2012 - The Kenyan DAILY POST has learnt from a reliable source that Prime Minister Raila Odinga has called former Nyanza police boss Johnstone Wanyama from retirement to help tame the recent spate of insecurity that has hit Kisumu town and its environs.

Wanyama, who has also served as OCS to Muthaiga, is an old hand in the security business and is known to be a master at putting criminals behind bars.

Recalling Wanyama to curb the insecurity in Kisumu is a big PR coup for Raila as it gives the impression to Kisumu residents and beyond that the PM has the best interest of Kenyans at heart and always listens to their complaints.

The insecurity in Kisumu has grabbed headlines this week as ODM Kisumu Town West Chairman Shem Kwega was killed in an apparent robbery attempt on Monday. He was among three prominent residents of Kisumu that have been killed in the past week in violent robberies.
