Tuesday August 7, 2012 - Water Minister Charity Ngilu has hinted that she aiming for the top seat by saying she has a magical wand to take Kenyans to the Promised Land.

Speaking in Machakos during the inauguration of a church bus in Machakos town on Monday, Ngilu said she will make a major political announcement adding that she wanted to go for presidency to redeem Kenyans from the jaws of poverty.

The Minister, who is also the Kitui Central lawmaker, vowed to remain steadfast in the fight for the rights of the poor who have been neglected by the current government.

“I will continue to fight for the rights of poor Kenyans until I make sure they cross over to the promised land of Canaan," she said

She said she will surprise many when she clinches the presidency come March next year. 

Not long ago, the Water Minister declared her unwavering support for Raila’s candidature to occupy the house on the hill. Is this a change of heart or does she want to be the running mate to Raila?

Ngilu was accompanied by Kathiani MP Wavinya Ndeti and Mutitu MP Kiema Kilonzo among other leaders.
