An electricity bill of Sh583,839 said to be for the Office of the President was posted on social media yesterday. The bill which was received through the E-bill services states that the account has been in arrears since February 4, 2010. A wisecrack, who felt the office was coming under undue criticism tweeted an explanation: "They used the electricity cash for the Defense budget to go fight terrorists in Somalia!"

Plans by a media house to equip its reporting staff with a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone has given some of the photojournalists a reason to worry. They feel the phone might render some of them jobless as reporters will be able to take high quality images, video and audio recordings. The photojournalists fear what they see as competition from the reporters and are not very enthusiastic about the introduction of the devices in the newsroom!
