BOMB scare in Thika town

Thursday, August 09, 2012 - News just in indicates that police in Thika Makongeni Estate are at the moment trying to calm down residents who are in panic after an object with a shape of a grenade was found dumped in the area.

Bomb experts and the Kenya Anti terrorism unit have arrived at the scene and are trying to contain the situation. The foreign object is feared to be a bomb thus raising panic among residents.

Residents claim that the bomb was found in one of the dumpsites areas where it had been carefully concealed among garbage. Street children who thought the object was scrap metal dumped the bomb outside one of the apartments where it was found by residents.

This comes just a few days after multiple grenade attacks killed at least 7 people in Nairobi’s Eastleigh area. Such incidents in Kenya have become tragic as tens of people have died on the hands of the terror group Al Shabaab.

The terror group had also sworn to attack Kenya during the Ramadhan season thus causing panic among Kenyans.
