Prime Ministers Raila Odinga's step brother will ditch ODM for  the G7 Alliance. Speaking at the Bungoma Posta grounds during the G7  prayer rally at the weekend, Omondi Odinga said no amount of intimidation will stop him working with the G7 politicians. Omondi, currently an ODM councillor for Kisumu’s Milimani ward, accused Raila of dictatorial tendencies. “The days for the presumed reformers who are the pillars of dictatorship are gone,  and they either change or change will catch up with them ,”he said.
He received a warm welcome as he was introduced to the crowds at different stop over rallies in Chwele, Mayanja  and Bungoma town  where he shared the same vehicle with Eldoret North MP Wiliam Ruto. Omondi took issue with those opposing his invitation of Uhuru Kenyatta and Wiliam Ruto  among other G7 alliance politicians  totheir Kisumu  home saying that was dictatorship and going against the democratic space that Kenyans have fought for years.
He also  took issue with her sister, Ruth Odinga,  for allegedly sending her threatening messages following the invitation. In a message shown to the Star, She allegedly told Omondi to forget about hosting Ruto and Uhuru at their Kisumu home. Ruth,  who is omondi’s younger sisterhas  dismissed the planned funds drive by Omondi saying it is political. “I want to say that the move is political and l advise my brother to be wary of politicians out to use him and dump him later,” she said.
Omondi’s move comes at time when Uhuru and Ruto have been exchanging following raila’a remarks  that the two should be in prison for crimes against humanity charges they are facing at the International Criminal Court instead of criss crossing the country attending prayer rallies. Over the weekend, the G7 leaders addressed yet another prayer meeting in Bungoma  where they accused raila of being avindictive and inhuman  person   who wanted to use their ICC predicament to clinch presidency. United republican party activists George Ayugi who had accompanied  Omodi said they were going on with the plans to host the G7 on the 6th of April.
He said the G7 will lay a wreath of flowers in the late Jaramogi’s mausoleum after which they will preside over a funds drive for Omondi’s campaign for the Bondo seat and  address a rally  in Kisumu town after wards…..Ends
