Producer Robert Wawero Kiboy a.k.a Wawesh Mjanja stands the chance of winning a $4,000(Sh 300,000) cash prize, for remixing Beyonce’s new hit End of Time. Wawesh is taking part in an online competition by Sony Entertainment that started off on February 8 and ends on March 8. It gives fans from all over the world a chance to remix the song which is off Beyonce’s latest album 4. The top 50 submissions with the most votes will be selected and listened to by Beyonce herself before selecting the most impressive. In addition to the cash prize, the winner’s remix will to appear on an upcoming BeyoncĂ© release.
Wawesh says that he is “confident” that he stands “a chance to win” the online competition thanks to his criteria choice. “I don't see why I should not win since most of the other producers were not as creative as I was. Beyonce wanted originality and creativity and so I gave the song and African touch unlike most of the producers who did dance and other westernised beats,” Wawesh told Word Is. “I have a strong feeling that this is Beyonce calling me. For some reason I'm very confident,” he added. Another Kenyan producer has also submitted their remix. Robert Keingati also known as Sosevia said, "I tried to expand on the dance-feel of the track and do it in a way that has not been done before and I'm very proud that what I've heard online so far I haven't heard anything that sounds like it.”
