AFC leopards failed to gunner maximum points on Saturday in their opening game of the 2012 Kenyan Premier League(KPL) season after they were held to a barren draw by Chemilil Sugar.
Leopards whose only clear cut chance came late in the second half courtesy of Erick Masika header spent most of the first half pinned in their own half by a resilient Chemilil.
Things went from bad to worse for Ingwe in the second half as they failed to create clear cut chances something that prompted their supporters to demand for the introduction of Tanzanian import Jimmy Bagaye.
However Bagaye who came on later in the second half following Coach Jan Koops double substitution replacing Victor Ochieng and Oscar Kadenge with Congolese international Lauren Tumba and the Tanzanian had little impact on the game resulting into some of the Leopards fans to leave the field of play before the final whistle.
However Speaking to KNA after the Match A.F.C Captain Salim Kinje said that the team was going to bounce back from the dismal performance adding that all was not lost with the draw.
"Am confident that the team is going to bounce back from this result as it is still very early in the season and the good thing is we didn't lose the game and we can have some solace from that."said the leopards Skipper
All eyes now turn to the Thika Municipal stadium where Gor Mahia is scheduled to play Thika United in "the Milk derby". Both teams are sponsored by Milk producers Brookside Company.
