Raila 34.7% Uhuru 30.10%


New poll shows Raila as most popular

Prime Minister Raila Odinga remains the man to beat were an election to be called today.
However, a new poll survey conducted by ISS Africa shows that the popularity of the premier appears to have dwindled with the fall-out between him and his adviser Miguna Miguna.
In the poll survey conducted between Monday 12th December, 2011 and Monday 2nd January 2012, Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta is slowly gaining ground.
The poll  attributed the gain to the perception of the youth on  Uhuru as well as his perceived understanding of the economy amid inflationary pressure.
Odinga polled 34.7 per cent with Uhuru Kenyatta a close second at 30.1 per cent. Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka comes a distant third at 8.2 per cent. William Ruto at 5.70%, Martha Karua 3.70%, George Saitoti 2.60%, Peter Kenneth has 1.60%, while others at 2.70%. Those who are undecided constitute 8.80%.
The pollster shows the Prime Minister as having lost ground by a 4 per cent margin while Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Uhuru Kenyatta has gained a six per cent margin.
According to ISS Africa, the Orange Democratic Party - ODM remains the most popular party with a popularity rating of 37.30 per cent against PNU Alliance at 35 per cent while Kanu comes third at 10.2 per cent.  In the poll ODM-K is at 6.6%, NARC-K at 6%, UDM at 2%,UDF at 1% while others scored 0.30% all which total 98.40%.
