SHUT OUT. The Kenya Revenue Authority has made no provision for Kenyans abroad who have passports but no national IDs to open PIN accounts online, moans Wamahiu Muya.
His attempts get PINs for his children so they could transact business that could have earned revenue for the KRA, he adds, failed because they had no IDs.
To Muya, this confirms that the revenue authority bosses do not really care about Kenyans in the diaspora, who pay millions in taxes to the Motherland. His contact is muya@optonline.net

SIMPLY NOT TRUE. Not buying Stephen Musyoki Kimondio’s assertion that poverty is to blame for poor performance in last year’s KCPE exam results in some counties is James Carlos Kilai, who declares that it is simply not true.
And for proof, he cites Makueni County, “which is poor and yet performs well in national examinations”.
Makueni, he adds, has had excellent results in the KCPE exam since it was carved out of Machakos District in 1992. His contact kilaijunior06@yahoo.com

KEPT IN THE DARK As far as power supply is concerned, the past few months have been agonising for residents of Kileleshwa, Nairobi, thanks to frequent fluctuations and outages, remarks Dr F. Mohamed.
But even more frustrating, the good doctor adds, has been the lack of a formal explanation from Kenya Power as to what could be the problem and what is being done.
“Efforts to get feedback from the customer service manager have been futile. Can the problem be sorted out once and for all?” urges Dr Mohamed, whose contact is 0722791459 or farah@hotmail.com

CHEATED. Twice in this brand New Year, Malfy Doe has been disappointed that instead of receiving Sh6 change at Nakumatt Lifestyle, Nairobi, he was given Sh5 and the teller started serving the next person.
“They should inform customers because some will not take it kindly. Or they should keep sweets, matchboxes or other items worth Sh5. It is annoying to realise that you got less change because the supermarket has no coins.” His contact is malfydoe@yahoo.com

LAKE ON THE ROAD. Water has been gushing from a burst pipe at the junction of Ngara and Murang’a roads in Nairobi, creating a mini lake in this hot dry season, reports Cassim Jivraj.
The precious clean water being so blatantly wasted is also contributing to the traffic snarl-ups at this section as motorists wade through the water, slowing down.
Cassim thinks the burst pipe has also slowed down the road construction, which has been going on at snail’s pace since last year. There is similar leakage on Park Road, he adds. His contact is cj@pfpfinancial.com
