THREE PNU city MPs yesterday put ODM on notice that it will not win a single parliamentary seat in Nairobi come 2012. Public Health minister Beth Mugo, assistant Water minister Ferdinard Waititu and newly elected MP Kamukunji Yussuf Hassan who spoke at a fund-raising ceremony in Makadara constituency said PNU is planned to sweep all city seats next year.
Mugo said it was clear from the election of Yussuf on a PNU ticket despite intense campaigns by ODM top brass that PNU was the party to beat in Nairobi. “I agree with the Prime Minister that Kamukunji is a pointer to 2012 election and that whichever party won would win the 2012 battle. He said it himself. We are taking over Nairobi and we will take over the country in 2012,” Mugo said.
Waititu said Kamukunji had given the PNU alliance an invaluable lesson that it must stay united if it must win. He said Nairobi will remain united under PNU alliance and will not be divided by the party's presidential aspirants. He told the audience which included deputy PM Uhuru Kenyatta that the city PNU leadership will push for a joint presidential nomination and that whoever wants to leave the alliance should leave as an individual.
Area MP Mike Mbuvi alias Sonko criticised ODM for “kicking him out” during the Makadara by election last year. He said he is in Narc Kenya to stay and he will stick with Uhuru “to death.” He also declared that he will challenge Martha Karua for Narc Kenya party ticket. Former Makadara MP Reuben Ndolo now the chair of Athi Water Services Board advised Uhuru to go for the presidency alone and avoid “tribal alliances.” “Don't be cheated and used as an ATM. We know your work and what you are capable of. Forget about these alliances and do not be intimidated by Ocampo,” Ndolo said.
During the fundraising in which Uhuru donated Sh460,000 for Our Lady of Visitation church  Makadara, Sonko gave Immigration minister Otieno Kajwang up to September 9, 2010 to give all young people IDs. “We do not want our youth given IDs in installments. If all youth do not get IDs by next month, I will personally lead youth demonstration at 3pm on that date. I am capable of raising four million young people to participate in this demo,” he said.
