A section of ODM MPs on Sunday warned Mr Miguna Miguna, the suspended advisor to Prime Minister Raila Odinga, against using abusive language against the PM.

Migori MP John Pesa, who is also the chairman of the Luo Parliamentary Group, warned that they would not tolerate Mr Miguna’s public tirade against Mr Odinga.
“Mr Miguna was an appointee of the PM and if he was suspended from his duties on allegations pending investigations, the only wise thing he should do is to wait for the verdict instead of rushing to the media,” said Mr Pesa.
He said that Nyanza MPs would meet soon to discuss his conduct.
Gem MP Jakoyo Midiwo and his Gwassi counterpart John Mbadi asked Mr Miguna to follow the due course of law instead of engaging in a public spat with the PM.
The suspended official over the weekend said he had decided to go public on his suspension after the PM failed to apologise for what he termed wrongful interdiction.
“Unfortunately, he has failed or refused to do so after one whole week. This is neither honourable nor humane. A man who cannot apologise and correct his mistakes has no business pretending to be the symbol of positive change for this country,” he said in a statement.
Mr Miguna said he had sacrificed his professional career, life and even family for Mr Odinga and he was shocked by the manner his case was handled.
“For him to throw me under the train in such callous, inhumane and clearly barbaric manner astounds me,” he said.
But the MPs on Sunday said the decision to suspend him by Permanent Secretary in the PM’s office Mohammed Isahakia was procedural.
Long overdue
Mr Mbadi said Mr Miguna’s suspension was long overdue since he had failed to separate his work as a civil servant from unnecessary politics using the PM’s office.
“Mr Miguna has failed to control his freedom of expression by using the PM’s office to indulge in divisive politics that put the PM in bad light,” said Mr Mbadi.
He told Mr Miguna to seek justice in the courts instead of engaging the PM in a public spat.
