Amos Wako
Long-serving Attorney General Amos Wako may be preparing to join active politics as Busia County senator but some people in Teso reportedly want nothing to do with him.  They claim that Wako was in government when those in power at the time conspired to hive off parts of the larger Teso district and place it under Nambale constituency. They have now vowed to use their numerical voter strength to teach the smiling Wako a lesson in politics.

A top parastatal head is very disturbed about the behaviour of an ODM MP whom he alleges has been trying to blackmail him. The official says the MP has been demanding business from the parastatal and every time he is told due process must be followed before any contract is awarded, he threatens to reveal scandalous information about the parastatal chief and other key officials.

There is clearly no love lost between two North Rift MPs who come from one county and who are interested in vying for the senator and governor seats. They have both been telling friends and anyone who cares to listen that they have lined-up millions of shillings in cash to sponsor candidates against each other. The two have not only been avoiding each other but have now gone to the extent of fighting for the support of elders from their community.

The academic qualifications of a high-flying political activist who was recently given a key appointment at the Energy ministry have caused murmurs among the managers. Senior staff at the ministry are complaining that the activist with a dubious degree earned from a street college abroad doesn’t understand anything in his new job.
