Prof. Githu Muigai was Thursday vetted by the Constitution Implementation Oversight Committee (CIOC), for the position of Attorney General. This follows the distinguished law professor's nomination by President Mwai Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday, to succeed outgoing Attorney General Amos Wako. Githu is promising to bring to a close all cases that have lagged behind for years such as the Goldenberg and Anglo leasing scandals. A report will be tabled in Parliament later Thursday, and if approved, he will be appointed as Kenya's 9thAttorney General. More details later |
