It was a thorough beating for the Leopards who could not match the swift pace of the green brigade. The Leopards were expected to eat but apparently they were wounded into submission.
They were gored three times and only managed a bite.
Minutes after the final whistle the Gor fans were in town celebrating in style. It was their day. The Leopard's fans, heads down in shame, slowly disappeared one by one-having been humiliated.
Scorers at a glance:
Gor Mahia
Wycliff Ochomo-13th minute
Demonde Selenga- 62nd minute
Duncan Makori- 82nd minute
AFC
Mike Barasa 84th minute
This is how we covered it live:

Sunday Nation: The hype and overwhelming interest was there but it certainly was not a classic.
But if there was a greater message from this match, it is that winning and losing is part of the game. I can see Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards fans mingling together.
They held a minute silence before the match in honour of the five fans who died in a stampede during a similar fixture last year.
This was a good day for Kenyan football and I hope you enjoyed our coverage. Bye.

Both sets of players huddle together at the centre of the pitch. I am holding my breath but on the stands it looks peaceful in a choatic way. Wait, there is clapping all over the stadium more from the Gor side.

Sunday Nation: Both sets of fans have so far shown good behavior. They showed camaraderie throughout this week. Meeting together and publicly declaring , no to hooliganism and violence. Remember when the two sides met last on October 23 at Nyayo Stadium five fans died following a stampede. It was the worst stadium disaster in Kenya.
“Though I am a Gor fan, I urge all to play well, embrace fair play, entertain all the fans and be disciplined especially the fans who take the law unto their own hands when they lose! Good luck,” koibirir emailed Nation.
“Fans must remember that we have entered an era of non-violence at the stadium. They can support their clubs and cheer them but observes decorum,” Sports Commissioner Gordon Oluoch implored. I met him yesterday during the Kenya versus Zimbabwe Victoria Cup clash and he said he will attend today’s game. I wonder who he will supporting. He did not tell me.
Will the peace hold today. I hope so.

Sunday Nation: The match has been played at a frantic pace. Will the players maintain it in the second half? The Gor green brigand does not care for now as they go into full rendition of their anthem. I can hardly hear the Leopards' Isukuti beats. It is not over yet, this game. But if Alex ole Magelo's (Leopard's chairman) warning "the Leopard is hungry and it will eat on Sunday" is to come true they will have to do something about their spots in the second half.

Sunday Nation: Gor will be happy with their performance so far. They have threatened in attack and on defence have kept Barasa, Chinjili and Bagaye quiet. It is not surprising, after all Gor have the best defence in the league with just nine goals conceded.
