RAO PREMIERS ON THE CHURCHILL LIVE SHOW

He sang, danced and left many with cracked ribs.
With the standing ovation he received from the jubilant crowd that attended the live recording of the show, he did not mince his words; he said Kenya must remain one now and forever.
The good memory of Harry Belafonte’s Jamaica Farewell hit song, was a show of proof that the man who has stirred in local politics and attracted the largest following for any politician in the history of independent Kenya, was a jack of all trade.
And as he proved his dancing prowess and a mastery of the official lingua franca (English Language), he left no doubt that he was an all round man, a politician who has set a niche, quite above the rest in the game. It’s no wonder he says, very few play in his league.
As he wound up the show by proclaiming his penchant for Jaguar’s music, the Orange Democratic Movement – ODM Party Leader Mr. Raila Odinga’s panache left millions of viewers still glued on their TV sets hoping for more from the man they love, like and hate.
It was all on the local popular TV comedy show, The Churchill Live airing on NTV. Thursday’s (2^nd June 2011) show was arguably the most watched of all the Churchill Live episodes ever.
The Prime Minister, whose family led by his beloved wife Mrs. Ida Odinga, friends and relatives sat in the audience, premiered on the show, leaving a mark that very few, perhaps none would attempt to march.
He sang Harry Belafonte’s hit song Jamaica Farewell so well that everyone in the audience and viewers at large were left in awe. The vocals did not betray him.
Raila is an all round dancer, his predilection for reggae music proved to be his weakness. He swung and floated in joy like a newly born baby. He shook his body with dynamism as the audience actively and passionately remained on their feet, enjoying every of his movement.
Mr. Raila spoke of his family life and how he met the rock of his life Mama Ida 38 years ago. He praised Mama Ida as an energetic and loving lady whom he loved on the first day they met, courted for one year before they tied the note.
On politics, the Prime Minister told Kenyans to embrace the spirit of oneness saying that is the Kenya he would want to see. He said his vision was for One Kenya, One Kenya and One Kenya saying that was his brand of the KKK tag.
On football matters, Raila said he would like to see a people with managerial experiences running football in the country saying that the dwindling standards of Soccer in Kenya today can only be revived through good administrators.
And as he wound up his lively interview with Mr. Daniel Ndambuki aka Churchill, Mr. Raila took to the floor to dance to his favourite local hit, Kigeugeu by Jaguar.
This would with no doubt lift Jaguar’s music career. His name would for many years remain a household one, thanks to the accolade by Mr. Raila Amollo Odinga.
