Share/Save/Bookmark A first-time Member of Parliament from Western Kenya fell for the tricks of a well known conman from Nairobi's Eastlands and lost hundreds of thousands of shillings. The MP was lured into the deal when the conman made him a few counterfeit notes which convinced him it was the genuine item. He was then asked to pay for the chemicals and 'special paper' needed to make more money. The conman disappeared as soon as he got the money. He is now bragging that there is nothing that the MP can do for him as he would not want to be humiliated or exposed as dealing in counterfeits.

Some powerful individuals close to President Kibaki are not so comfortable backing Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta as Kibaki’s successor. The individuals are said to have been holding meetings and cracking their brains on who else from the Central region could succeed Kibaki instead of the son of Jomo. They are considering coming up with a new political party apparently to be the vehicle for whoever the group will consider their ideal candidate.
           ===An ODM mayoral aspirant is under siege from shoemakers and traders in his civic ward. Our mole tells us that the traders are angry that the civic leader 'stole' the wife of one of the cobblers who is one of his chief campaigners. The traders were overhead at a pub in Tassia discussing how they will prevent the civic leader from making it into the Mayor's Parlour.

 The Kenyan woman 'Mama Leila' Nyakinyua named by President Obama last week has been previously arrested for drug trafficking in Kenya but silently released on the orders of a Cabinet minister who served in the Moi regime and is a presidential contender for 2012. We are told that Mama Leila used a Kamukunji Constituency perennial loser whom she once dated to gain access to the high and mighty.
