Woman found dead in lodging

Share/Save/Bookmark A 35 year old woman who went missing since last Saturday was found dead in a lodging at Embu town. The woman, whose name the police could not immediately disclose since her family members had not been informed of her death was found at Kwiremia Hotel in the town. Embu police boss Gasper Makau said the woman allegedly went alone to the hotel and hired the room and retired to bed.
However in the morning when the cleaners were going on with their duties they discovered she had not woken up and decided to open the room.
They allegedly found her lying dead in the bed with blood stains in the nose and the mouth.
The hotel management reported the matter to the police who immediately commenced investigations into the matter. Makau said they suspect the woman might have been drugged by somebody but that they were waiting for postmortem results.
The OCPD said the reports they had was that the deceased was working at the Kerugoya district hospital. He said they had also information that she frequents the hotel with a boy friend that they were looking for , to help them with investigations. Makau said the body of the deceased was removed to the Embu Provincial General Hospital for postmortem.
The police boss called on anybody who might have known how the woman met her death to assist the police with the information and it would be handled with confidence. Reports indicated that the woman who is a habitant of Kirinyaga District went missing since Saturday before her body was found in the hotel.
