Share/Save/Bookmark ROADS Minister Franklin Bett will not defend his Buret Parliamentary seat in 2012 General Election, but will instead go for deputy president slot. He said he has the credentials for the job of Deputy President. “I am going to offer myself to the best presidential candidate in next year's General Election since no one has come forward to declare interest in the post of deputy president,” Bett told Roret residents during a ground breaking ceremony for the proposed pineapple processing plant in his constituency.
Accompanied by Industrialization Assistant Minister Ndiritu Mureithi, Bett said leaders must be flexible while dealing with national matters and should not oppose ideas that are good.
While lauding President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga for accepting the nominations of Dr Willy Mutunga and Nancy Baraza as Chief Justice and Deputy Chief Justice respectively, Bett said Kenya risks being caught unaware in constitution implementation before next general election if the culture of negativity continues.

Mureithi, who is Laikipia West MP, also told those holding that culture of negativity to swallow their pride and accept the appointment of Mutunga and Baraza saying endless wrangling on who should be what in Kenya will set back growth of institutions. He called for healthy political competition that will steer Kenya forward and not negative politics that has taken root since the 2007 General Election.
