NAIROBI, Kenya, Mar 26 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto on Saturday heightened their war against Prime Minister Raila Odinga vowing to fight him politically to the end.

Speaking in Meru, the two leaders accused the PM of fighting for their political downfall and swore they were all out for "political war."

"Since 2008, we went to work until Raila became too much. Now we are doing politics and we will push him to the end," said Mr Kenyatta.

Mr Ruto added: "It is clear who won't be president in 2012."

Mr Ruto hit out at the Orange Democratic Movement party and its leader Mr Odinga for failing to adhere to party democracy.  He said Mr Odinga and party Secretary General Anyang' Nyong'o were fighting a party decision to call for a local tribunal and were busy advocating for International Criminal Court trials.

"ODM has now become a sect with an idol who must be worshipped," Mr Ruto said.

Mr Kenyatta continued to plead his innocence against accusations that he was part of the masterminds of the post election violence.  He said it is Mr Odinga who should be facing trial after refusing to concede defeat in the 2007 election and calling for mass action which led to the violence.

"I have done no wrong and I must protest my inclusion in the Ocampo list," said the Finance Minister.

Mr Kenyatta tore into the PM's ideology of lack of confidence in local institutions. The Finance Minister questioned Mr Odinga's ability to lead Kenya when he had no faith in Kenyans and the institutions they run.

"He wants a foreign chief justice, foreign director of public Prosecution and foreign everything," he added.

Party of National Unity Secretary General Kiraitu Murungi said the International Criminal Court process was a ploy by the PM and the international community to shut out Mr Ruto and Mr Kenyatta out of the 2012 race.

"The ICC is a political court meant to eliminate Raila's opponents," said Mr Murungi.

Others on the tour were Assistant ministers Kareke Mbiuki, Peter Munya, Mwangi Kiunjuri and Ferdinand Waititu. Also there were MPs Cyrus Muriuki, Mithika Linturi, William Kabogo, Peter Mwathi and Maison Leshomo.
