Share/Save/Bookmark The Orange Democratic Movement party has again postponed its national elections which were scheduled for April. This is the third time that ODM is calling off the elections in three months, citing various reasons.
ODM Secretary-General Anyang' Nyong'o announced that the polls had been put off because of the rains.“Following the ongoing rains and drought in some parts, we have called off the national elections,” “The polls will now be held at the end of May at a date to be confirmed,” he told journalists at Orange House. The party had announced that polls would take place between the 2nd to the 6th April 2 and 6.
Nyong'o said that the ODM will place an announcement in the local dailies giving new dates for the elections. ODM had earlier planned grassroots elections in January.
The party cites prevailing weather conditions especially drought in the northern part of the country.
