Corridors of Power

E-mail Print PDF
Share/Save/Bookmark  A prominent politician has found himself in an awkward position. We are told that a stolen car, which is subject to police investigations is parked at his home in Karen. Our mole informs us that the maroon Prado, which was stolen from a Kenyan woman of Asian descent was hidden at the man's home. Although corridors could not establish whether the politician was aware  of the stolen car in his compound, we are told that the conspiracy to hide the car at the politician's home was to ensure that the police do not recover it.

An ODM MP, who served as an army major in 1980s might find himself on the spot soon. Leaders from the Pokot community have threatened to expose the man to the Truth and Justice Commission (TJRC) for allegedly presiding over atrocities perpetrated by government forces under his command in 1984. The leaders told the MP that he will be held personally responsible for the hundreds of Pokots who died in 1984 when the government forcefully raided the area in a disarmament programme.

We are informed that a candidate in Ikolomani by-elections is in serious debts. The man , who also vied in 2007 general elections was so monied  then that he used a city restaurant as his office, where delegation after delegation would pay him homage. We are told that  at the end of the day, the man would pay a bill of sh 50,000 daily for the period preceding the 2007 elections. We are told that a member of Parliament, who believed that the man was still monied tried to convince his party to give him a direct nomination only to realise later that the man has no funds to fund his by election campaigns. We are now told that the man used to get his funds from importing goods for his boss, who is in trouble with the taxman.
