Acting government Chief Whip Johnstone Muthama has challenged ICC Chief Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo to go for the "big" fish in the 2007/08 post-election violence case.
Muthama faulted Ocampo, saying his investigations fell below the expectations of Kenyans.
The Kangundo MP reminded Ocampo that a certain leader claimed his victory was stolen and asked his supporters to stage countrywide mass action.
During the protests, more than 1000 Kenyans were killed and property destroyed.
"There is going to be no justice in The
Hague trials if the ‘commander’ of the post-election violence is not in the Ocampo list. Anything short of this in not justice," charged Muthama.
Already, Ocampo has named Cabinet Secretary Francis Muthaura, Finance Minister Uhuru Kenya, Industrialisation Minister Henry Kosgey, Eldoret North MP William Ruto, Post Master-General Hussein Ali and Kass FM radio presenter Joshuo Sang as the people he intents to prosecute.
The Chief Whip was speaking in Machakos during this years' Machakos Mayor Christmas tree lighting-cum-food donations to the needy held at the Municipal council compound on Sunday.
Muthama, who was accompanied by Machakos Town MP Dr Victor Munyaka and Machakos Mayor Fidelis Kimuyu, urged Kenyans to uphold peace for the sake of future generations.
The MP called on Machakos County residents to elect an educated person to the position of Governor.
