Promulgations Preparations

Uhuru park grounds, the venue for Friday's ceremony to proclaim the new constitution, and surrounding buildings have been sealed off by security personnel. According to the director of police operations, Julius Ndegwa, appropriate measures have been put in place to secure the venue and police officers on horseback and others with sniffer dogs will patrol the park until Friday. Kenyans are expected in their numbers to witness the event alongside scores of heads of state and foreign dignitaries who have been invited.
