Police in Coast province have netted 5 kilograms of heroine worth 10 million Kenya Shillings.
The consignment was netted in a house in Mikindani area in Changamwe constituency following a tip off from members of the public.
A further 1.4 million shillings was recovered from the suspect believed to be of Nigeria origin.
The consignment is said to be the biggest catch to be netted this year and the police are vowing not to relent in the war against drug trafficking.
The police however say they are yet to establish whether the consignment was on transit or meant for local consumption.
Coast province remains the worst hit province in drug trafficking and consumption.
The move by the public to volunteer information to the police is seen as a stride towards eradicating the vice in the region.
