Why Raila’s presidency is the best for Kenya
Here are my 5 reasons why Kenyans should vote Raila as the 5th president.
1. Perseverance
This is going to be the fifth time he is running. Four times he was not declared the winner, but he never gave up. A loss for Ruto will give him a chance to experience what it feels like to fall. This will be a great lesson on humility. He will learn to remember that a slip is not a fall. It will help him realise that being president is not anyone's birth right.
2. Martha
By choosing Martha Karua to be his running mate, Raila has given a voice to the women of Kenya. For the first time there will be a woman holding the second highest office in the country. By electing Raila, Kenyans will avoid the trouble of having to worry about the court cases against Rigathi Gachagua.
3. Alternative voice
Raila is neither a kikuyu nor a kalenjin. By electing a luo as president, all Kenyans will start believing in themselves knowing that it doesn't matter where you come from, who your father is and your religious beliefs, you have a chance to be president. Being deputy president or son of former Vice president has nothing to do with the outcome of the election.
4. Mandela moment
Raila and Martha are among the group of Kenyans who fought for the freedom we currently have and the new constitution.By electing them, Kenyans will give them an opportunity to implement what they fought for.
5. Age
At an age of seventy seven, Raila is mature enough to be a uniting father figure to all. He is emotionally ready to take the reigns, has forgiven everyone who made him suffer over the years and is not holding grudges against anyone.
He doesn't have to worry about 'anger management.'
