A banker fell asleep at his desk and accidentally transferred €222 million instead of €62 but was sacked after he failed to notice the error and verified the transaction.
An employee at a German bank nodded off for a few seconds with his finger pressed on the number two on the keyboard, which resulted in him accidentally moving a hefty sum into someone’s account instead of the measly €62.40 they originally wanted.
The bank realised the catastrophic error and corrected it immediately but were taken to court by the employee after they fired him for failing to notice the blunder and verifying the transaction.
The court then ruled the fired employee should get his job back.
