Kimaiyo names 47 County Commanders

DAVID-KIMAIYO-EXPLAINNAIROBI, Kenya, Jun 14 – Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo has deployed 47 County Commanders with immediate effect.
The list of 47 includes Benson Kibue the immediate former Nairobi Provincial Police Chief (PPO) who has been retained in the capital city.
None of the other seven PPO’s are on the list.
Other appointees include Edward Mbugua who has been deployed to Mombasa and Daniel Ngetich who is now the Kisumu County Commander.
The County Commanders now render the role of the PPO irrelevant as the National Police Service embarks on reforms.
The appointment of the County Commanders was preceded by turf battles between the Inspector General and the Police Service Commission.
