UHURU wants RAILA questioned on INTEGRITY

Thursday August 2,2o12 - Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta now wants Prime Minister Raila Odinga questioned over his role in 2007-08 post election violence.

On Tuesday, Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp said Raila Odinga must be questioned on what happened before and after the post election violence.

It was not immediately clear which issues on integrity would be laid at Raila’s door, but he has consistently denied any allegations –most recently made by his former adviser on coalition affairs Miguna Miguna in his book Peeling Back the Mask: A Quest for Justice in Kenya-that he was involved in any way in planning and executing the 2007 post election violence.

Raila has also denied any wrong doing in the management of the Kazi kwa Vijana funds  or the 2010 Maize Scandal which according  to Miguna’s book, involved some  of the officers in the PM office.

One MP who spoke on condition of anonymity said Prime Minister Raila Odinga is trying to divert the attention on the Miguna’s book which exposes the dark side of the premier.

He said if Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta and Eldoret North MP William Ruto will be locked out of the next election on integrity issues, then the PM should also be locked for the same.
