The Kenya-Chinese hawkers SAGA.....Now KALONZO joins in

Wednesday August 22, 2012-Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has said the government will not allow foreigners who visit the country to conduct business without work permits.

Speaking at his Jogoo House office in Nairobi when he received a Chinese delegation led by Taixing City Mayor Zhang Zhaojiang, the VP said the country had growing business opportunities but would not condone business investors coming into the country to compete with the locals without work permits.

“If there are Chinese hawkers coming into the country without permits, we will not allow it,” Kalonzo said.

Kalonzo’s assertions came barely days after Nairobi businessmen and women demonstrated against Chinese influx in Nairobi where they said Chinese hawkers are dominating in small business in the city.
