The Kalenjin will VOTE for RAILA with MOI leading - BETT

Tuesday August 14, 2012 - Roads Minister Franklin Bett has asked former President Moi to call a meeting of all Kalenjin leaders to declare their allegiance to Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential quest.

Speaking during the official opening of Kapsikiara Africa Gospel Church in his Bureti Constituency, Bett said the former president was in a position to unite leaders from the region, noting that past meetings have not yielded fruit owing to division and supremacy wars among leaders.

"We are appealing to Mzee Moi to call for a meeting to help unite the community. Those who will come, let them come and those who are not for the unity. They will be known,” Bett said.

Bett, who is the key ally of the Premier in the region, said the people of Kenya have decided not to join tribal alliances, and expressed confidence that Prime Minister Raila Odinga and Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) will emerge victorious in the forthcoming general election.

He said ODM is intact and those saying the party is weak should look at the recent opinion poll by Infotrack Harris where Raila upstaged all other presidential aspirants with a wide margin.
