Nyaribari Masaba constituents yesterday welcomed a decision by their MP Sam Ongeri to run for Kisii senator seat in the coming polls. The constituents said the projects initiated by Ongeri have proved that he can spur development in the county. Ongeri announced on Sunday that he will vie for senator.
The constituents assured him of their support and asked him to solicite for votes in other constituencies. The Foreign Affairs minister was on a tour to inspect projects in Masimba, Kiamokama, Geteri, Gesusu and Taracha. “The county requires a leader who understands the challenges faced by the people and I am happy that you have given me that opportunity,” Ongeri told a gathering outside Masimba DO office. Public Works minister Chris Obure has also said he will run for senator in Kisii.
