RAILA will BREAK Kenya’s POLITICAL record just like RUDISHA

Friday August 10, 2012-Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Thursday evening appealed to Kenyans to rally behind the athletes at the London 2012 Olympics no matter the team’s performance.

The jubilant PM who was among over 80,000 supporters, who cheered Kenyans in the Olympic Stadium, said Kenyans were unfairly critical of the Olympics team, a development he said could demoralise the athletes.

Speaking after David Lekuta Rudisha broke a new world record in 800 metres, Raila told Kenyans to embrace the spirit of sports and accept that winning and losing are part of any contest.

Raila said the country has already shown it is a force to reckon in the ongoing Olympics, by saying Rudisha and Kemboi have revived the dreams of Team Kenyain London.

“We need to understand that there are nations at this contest who have won no medal so far and could leave empty handed. This is a big step for the country and I urge Kenyans to pray for more medals,” Raila.

Raila who didn’t leave Kenyan politics behind, said he will break a Kenyan political record in winning the upcoming poll, the way Rudisha did at the Olympic Stadium.
