RAILA can work with UHURU – He doesn’t hate KIKUYUs – He says

Saturday August 18, 2012 - In an announcement that could likely ignite a lot of criticism, Prime Minister Raila Odinga has said he is ready to work with Deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta for the benefit of the country.

In a rare interview with one of the country local dailies, Raila said the animosity between Kikuyu and Luo community is a propaganda created to tarnish their names in the ballot box.

“In 2002, I put my wishes on hold for the sake of the nation when I said Kibaki tosha. Did I not know that Kibaki was a Kikuyu? We have to move away from hatred that creates this kind of propaganda,” the premier said.

He said he has friends within the Kikuyu Community who they have spent their lives together for over 3 decades.

He cited former Kiharu MP Kenneth Matiba and Charles Rubia, Koigi Wamwere who he said they shared a room during their detention times in 1990’s.
