Kiraitu goes to Imanyara base and said….

Tuesday July 31, 2012-Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi has said Imenti Central MP Gitobu Imanyara is his longtime friend despite their political differences.

Speaking at  Imanyara’s home turf  at Ruiga on Monday, Kiraitu said their relationship has been always  been good since 1992 when they are fighting  for democracy as well as  helping each other out in family matters.

He admitted that the Imanyara is a brilliant politician and will give him stiff competition in his bid for the Meru Senator.

Kiraitu who is Imenti South Legislator said Imanyara is equally fit to lead the Meru since all that matters in leadership is trust and dependability.

“We are not seeking the senate seat to boast; we are looking for an opportunity to serve Meru County” Kiraitu said.

“When we first went into politics with Imanyara we were out to fight political oppression by former President Moi. Currently there is a lot of development oppression brought about by poverty,” Kiraitu added.

He said he is ready to work with Imanyara for the development of Meru County and Meru community.
